The velvet soft tannins and sweet fruit flavours are enhanced by gentle oak treatment. 2004 merlot Langhorne Creek - 4 star rating recommended by Winestate - this rich violet Merlot has an aromatic nose of spicy fruitcake, plums, cherries and hints of black olive. The palate has a mouth filling texture of sweet berry fruits with a touch of mint, good length of flavours, vanilla oak and soft tannins. Matured in French oak barriques. 2006 Merlot - Langhorne Creek - Lifted blueberry characters on the nose, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla and rose petal floral characters. Palate shows nice berry fruit with a hint of dried mint. It is a well refined and elegant wine with soft tannins. 2003 Cabernet Merlot - Langhorne Creek - This is a classic blend aged for 15 months in French and American oak barriques, blended with Merlot to produce a wine of deep crimson colour with aromas of cedar wood, violets and eucalyptus. The palate is bursting with flavours of blackcurrant, mint chocolate, enhanced by the gentle oak treatment and the vibrant mulberry fruit of the Merlot. 2006 Viognier - Langhorne Creek - 4 star rating recommended by Winestate - the fruit of this distinctive wine was picked in the cold of night from Australia's first virus free Viognier done. It was briefly macerated before pressing cold then fermented in old French oak barriques. A short time on yeast less has complimented the natural fruit flavours giving added complexity. The wine has a lovely perfumed nose of honeyed poached pear, apricot and quince, a hint of marzipan with an elegant long generous palate and a refreshing lime finish. 2003 Shiraz - Langhorne Creek - This wine is a classic Australian Shiraz, aged for 15 months in a combination of French and American oak barriques, opaque black purple in colour with a nose reflecting ripe fruit characters and aromas of plum and spice. On the palate there is an irresistible mouth filling combination of chocolate, liquorice and blackberries, balanced by soft mellow tannins, typical of the region.
